New patients
Your first visit, no surprises.
We built the first-visit experience the way we'd want it ourselves — unhurried, transparent, and shaped around you. Here's exactly what happens when you walk (or ride) in.
Your first visits
Three steps from schedule to care.
Before You Visit the Trail
Once you've scheduled your first appointment, please complete the intake paperwork linked on our website ahead of time, digitally or printed, so we can make the most of our visit together; reach out anytime if you have questions.
What to expect at your first visit
Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early if you haven't submitted your paperwork ahead of time. Your first visit typically includes a review of your health history, a physical exam, and a conversation about your goals — whether that's relief from a specific issue or ongoing care for your whole family. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.
Bring with you
Your ID, and a list of any current medications or past injuries relevant to your visit. Kids and family visits are always welcome — we build care plans around every stage of life.

Your First Visit
Your first visit is about connection, goals, and understanding your story. It is designed to look beyond symptoms so we can understand the bigger picture of your health and what your body truly needs to function and heal.
We'll begin with a tour of the office, followed by a one-on-one consultation to review your health history, current concerns, and goals. We'll also explain how nervous system stress and interference can impact the body, along with how chiropractic care supports healing and regulation.
Nervous System Scans
Next, we'll assess how your nervous system is functioning using gentle, non-invasive CLA Insight nervous system scans. These scans allow us to objectively measure stress patterns and muscular imbalances so we can test, not guess, how your nervous system is adapting. This information helps us deliver care that is specific, intentional, and tailored to your needs, while also providing measurable benchmarks that allow us to track your progress and make data-driven decisions throughout your care plan. Over time, this objective feedback helps ensure your adjustments remain precise and responsive to how your body is healing and adapting.

Your Second Visit
Your second visit is centered on clarity and direction. We will sit down together to review your exam findings, including your neurological scans, and clearly explain how your nervous system is functioning and where stress or interference may be present. You will receive your personalized care recommendations and a clear plan outlining the frequency, duration, and goals of care so you understand exactly how we will move forward.
First Adjustment
You will receive your first adjustment at this visit. Before we begin, we will briefly review the approach we use at Trail Chiropractic, including the Torque Release Technique and hands-on adjustments, so you know what to expect. Your adjustment will be specific to your findings and tailored to your nervous system, marking the start of measurable change as we move from assessment into focused, intentional care.

Common questions
Good to know.
- Do you take insurance?
- We are a cash-based wellness office serving whole families and do not work directly with insurance companies. We do not want insurance dictating your care — it tends to value only short-term, symptom-based sick care. Our practice instead values your healthcare goals and works to advance true health and wellness in the Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas community. Not billing insurance allows us to create the best, most unique, and affordable care plans for our practice members. These plans are often less than what you would pay with insurance, and we will gladly provide the necessary documentation for reimbursement should you choose to file yourself.
- When will I get adjusted?
- We do not guess with your health. We split the new patient appointment into two separate visits because we perform specific, detailed testing on Day 1 that the doctor needs to review in order to create the most individualized recommendations for your health goals. After the doctor reviews all of your findings on the second visit and you commit to care, you will receive your first adjustment.
- Is it safe to adjust infants?
- Absolutely. The technique for adjusting infants is completely different from care for adults. The baby is checked by hand and then placed in the parent's lap or on a pediatric pillow, where gentle pressure is applied in areas of stress or concern. Babies need very little force — the pressure used is similar to what you can comfortably tolerate by pressing into your closed eye. Most babies find adjustments very relaxing and may even sleep through the process. Chiropractic care for infants is safe, simple, and effective.
- Why should my child see a chiropractor?
- Stress begins with the birthing process. Pregnancy and delivery are stressful for both mom and baby, and from there the average child experiences greater stress than we often realize through schedules, routines, and a non-stop lifestyle. This underlying stress can affect the nervous system and lead to health challenges. Many parents choose to have their children checked by a chiropractor as a proactive approach to their child's health. Healthy children grow into healthy adults, and that is our mission here at Trail Chiropractic.
- How long is each visit?
- Our goal is to deliver quality chiropractic care while respecting your valuable time. The comprehensive initial visit takes about 45–60 minutes. After your second visit, the typical office visit is between 5 and 15 minutes.
